Your struggle is welcome

As a Marriage and Family Therapist I work to bring authentic individualized therapeutic support to help you meet your goals. I will not only listen with compassion I will also seek to understand what may have brought you to this point in your life. Through active listening, challenging you and further supportive tools I hope for you to find lasting change.

I take on a collaborative approach and initially work to assess your learning style to uniquely provide tools that support true healing and understanding. Your the expert in your story, sometimes we just need support untangling behaviors and thoughts that no longer serve us well.

As someone who has been through therapy myself, I know first hand what it's like to be the client. The vulnerability and bravery that comes with taking the chance to grow.

Personal Background

My passion for becoming a therapist that supports women experiencing anxiety comes from a personal life-long experience with anxious thoughts and behaviors. I grew up as the "worry wart" of the family, constantly stressing and planning to control the outcome of what others thought of me. Through years of my own counseling both traditional and faith-based I have fallen in love even more with ways to make anxiety more manageable both in my own life and my client's.

Also as a millennial mother of two children 2 years old and under I understand what it is like to be in the "trenches" of parenting. As someone who has struggled with people-pleasing, being overly worried about how things go and needing to hyper- control to feel comfortable for a majority of my life I wasn't surprised that I also have experienced even more anxiety when becoming a mother. Yet this time, it was different.

With my first baby it was intrusive thoughts, some so scary that at times it was hard to be alone with my baby. With my second, it presented in the need to have things in my home clean and organized to the point where I couldn't focus on anything else until the tasks were done. Through education and speaking with other mom's I was able to find balance within my anxious thoughts using them to help me grow.

I feel that through this personal experience it allows me to connect with my clients on a deeper level, understanding their current struggles and fostering a fullness surrounding their healing journey.
